Upload New CSV Mailing List

You can upload a CSV file as a new mailing list.

CSV Columns: Name,First Name,Last Name,Business,Address1,Address2,City,State,Zip,Country,Email,Phone,DOB,Custom1,Custom2,Custom3,Custom4

Using the above header names will auto-map them to our available inputs after choosing your file.

First, click mailing lists on the left.

Then, click on 'Upload CSV.'

Next, you will be prompted to browse for your CSV file, and also provide a name for your NEW list.

Note: The checkbox option to skip trace your upload is optional. Please be aware that if you check it, there will be an additional fee for data lookup. You do not need to typically check this box, especially if you already have email and phone data in your CSV file.

Mapping Your CSV File

Now, you will match the headers in your CSV file to the available headers in thanks.io. 
After matching the available fields, click on the blue 'Save & Process' button at the bottom.
Available Field Options In Thanks.io

  • Skip - If selected, the field will NOT be used.

  • Name (Optional) - FULL Name - For use if your recipient names are combined.

  • First Name - First Name

  • Last Name - Last Name

  • Company Name (or 2nd Name/Spouse) - This Name is displayed under the recipients name on the mailer.

  • Address1 - Can be the FULL Address (123 Main St Anytown, XX 00000) OR the Street Address (123 Main St.) If the FULL Address is used you can skip the other fields: Address 2, city, st, zip.

  • Address2 - Apt/Unit/Address Line 2

  • City - City

  • State/Province -  State/Province (if none are provided, we will find the state using a zip code.)

  • Zip/Postal Code - Zip/Postal Code

  • Country - Country Code (Optional, not necessary for US addresses.)

  • DOB - Any valid date format is acceptable.

  • Custom 1 - Custom Mail Merge Text. This can be merged into message templates or dynamic card designs.

  • Custom 2 -  Custom Mail Merge Text. This can be merged into message templates or dynamic card designs.

  • Custom 3 -  Custom Mail Merge Text. This can be merged into message templates or dynamic card designs.

  • Custom 4 -  Custom Mail Merge Text. This can be merged into message templates or dynamic card designs.

  • Phone

  • Email

Your list will load after a short time. Wait for the process to complete for up to 5 minutes.

The contacts from the list and any mail merge data like birthday, company name, etc. will appear.

  • Duplicate contacts according to thanks.io have both the same Name and Address. 

  • Duplicate contacts are never added to a list.

  • If your list does not load after 5 minutes or you run into issues, please contact support.
