Why was the address I entered for a mailer changed? I received a card back with an address different then what I entered.
Our printer system is connected to a USPS system that does cleanse your addresses in order to optimize for maximum deliverability. All US addresses will be automatically standardized, cleansed, and verified through our CASS-Certified Address Verification system before being printed. All international addresses will simply be standardized by being transformed to all uppercase. This is the first step in helping you to ensure your mail pieces are deliverable and to eliminate wasted costs thus saving you money.
Afterwards, postcards and letters will be run through NCOA (National Change of Address), as these are requirements for sending with USPS. This may result in the final mailing address being different from the one you originally entered.
NCOA is a database compiled by the USPS that captures all change of address records. The NCOA ultimately reduces the number of undelivered mail and ensures mailers are being sent to correct individuals.
