Creating Subaccounts

How to create a subaccount

  1. Make sure you are in your main account (the sub-account switcher at the bottom of the sidebar reads Main Account).
  2. Click your name in the top right of the dashboard to open the account menu, then choose Sub Accounts (Settings → Sub Accounts).
  3. Click Add Sub Account.
  4. Enter a Title, and optionally an Email and Phone.
  5. Optionally fill in a return address (Sender Name, Address, Address Line 2, City, State, ZIP Code). Leave it blank to use the main account's return address.
  6. Click Save.

Saving switches you into the new subaccount and opens Branding, so you can set up its brand straight away. A note by the sub-account switcher points out where to switch accounts from then on.

Switching into a subaccount

  1. Click the sub-account switcher at the bottom of the sidebar. It shows the account you're working in, Main Account by default.
  2. Choose the subaccount from the list. Type in Search accounts to find one in a long list.
  3. The page reloads in that subaccount, on the page you were viewing.

Choose Main Account to switch back. Add Sub Account at the bottom of the switcher opens Settings → Sub Accounts (switching to the main account first if needed). The switcher only appears once you have at least one subaccount.

All work done after switching (creating lists, creatives, campaigns, and sending mail) is scoped to the selected subaccount. See What is Scoped to a Subaccount.

Managing subaccounts

Settings → Sub Accounts lists every subaccount with its ID, title, return name and address, email, phone, and its Total Sends and Total Spend for the month chosen in Totals for. Search by title or return name, click CSV to download the list, and click a row (or its menu → Edit) to change a subaccount. When editing, the email and phone are used for that subaccount's scan notifications.

Deleting a subaccount (row menu → Delete) moves its orders to the main account and deletes its mailing lists, image templates, message templates, and automated campaigns. The confirmation says so before anything is deleted.

Tips & best practices

  • Create the subaccount before starting any client work so all assets are isolated from the start.
  • Set up Branding inside each subaccount before creating any creatives.
  • Use a consistent naming convention (e.g., "ClientName - Region") to keep the switcher easy to scan.
