AI Receptionist Pricing & Billing
What it costs
| Number | Price |
|---|---|
| Your account's own number, on the Professional or Enterprise plan (monthly or yearly) | Included with your plan |
| Your account's own number, on any other plan | $30/month |
| A sub-account's number, on any plan | $30/month |
The price covers the number, the AI receptionist, and call tracking. There is no charge per call or per minute.
The monthly fee comes out of your account credits, like your mail. Sub-account numbers are charged to the main account.
On a plan that doesn't include a number, the Monthly Cost card on the AI Receptionist page offers Upgrade to Professional. See Plan Comparison.
Buying a number
- When you click Purchase Number and confirm with Pay $30.00 and Buy, the first month is charged from your credits right away, and then every month from that date until you release the number.
- Buying a charged number needs a payment method on file and a credit balance that isn't negative. Without them, the Monthly Cost card says so and links to add a card or credits.
- When your plan includes the number, the button reads Get Number, the card shows Free, and nothing is charged while you're on that plan.
The number's card on the AI Receptionist page shows Next charge with the amount and date, or Monthly fee: Included with your plan.
If your plan changes
Your plan is checked at every monthly charge. If you move off Professional or Enterprise, your account's own number starts being charged $30/month at its next billing date. If you move onto one of those plans, the next charge is skipped.
Pausing a number
Click Pause on the number's card to stop the receptionist answering for a while. Calls to a paused number are declined. A paused number is still billed each month, and mail that uses %YOUR_AI_PHONE% still prints it. Click Resume to have the receptionist answer again.
If a monthly payment fails
If the monthly charge doesn't go through:
- The number is paused, and its badge reads Payment failed. Calls to it aren't answered.
- You get a dashboard notification: update your payment method, then resume the number within 14 days to keep it.
- To resume, add credits or update your card, then click Resume and confirm Pay $30.00 and Resume. The month is charged and a new monthly cycle starts from that day. (If your plan now includes the number, resuming is free.)
If the number is still unpaid 14 days after it was paused, it's released and you get a notification saying so. Its call history stays in Call Logs.
Release a number
Releasing a number gives it up for good.
- Click Release number on the number's card.
- Confirm with Yes, Release.
The number stops working right away, including on mail you have already sent, and it can't be bought back. There are no further monthly charges. Its call history stays in Call Logs, and you can get a new number on the AI Receptionist page straight away.
Before you release a number, remember every piece already in the mail that prints it. Calls to a released number don't reach you, and sends and campaigns whose message uses %YOUR_AI_PHONE% are refused until you get a new number. If you only need a break, Pause it instead.
Limits & gotchas
- One number per account and one per sub-account. To change area codes, release the current number and buy a new one.
- Releasing a number doesn't refund the month you've already paid for.
- After you release a number, mail that uses
%YOUR_AI_PHONE%is refused until you get a new number. See Replacement Variables.
