Lead Feeds - Find People Showing Intent

What it is

A Lead Feed fills a mailing list with people who are actively researching what you sell: homeowners looking into a roof replacement, households shopping for solar panels, businesses comparing payroll software. You describe who you want, preview how many people match and see a sample, and then either buy a batch once or keep a feed running that adds fresh leads every day or every week.

Each lead is 10 cents, and you're only charged for people who aren't already on the list.

Where to find it

  • On a mailing list, click Add recipients and choose Lead Feed (marked Recommended) in the Add Recipients dialog. Leads go into that list.
  • On the Mailing Lists page before you have any lists, click Add recipients and choose Lead Feed. Leads go into a new list.
  • Open Lead Feeds under Audience in the sidebar and click New Lead Feed.

While a sub-account is active, a new list is created in that sub-account.

Before you start

Buying leads needs a payment method on file and a credit balance that isn't negative. Without a card, the Lead Feed option says so and links to Add a card; with a negative balance, it links to Add credits. Both open Settings → Payment Method.

The Lead Feed setup has your filters on the left and the preview and purchase on the right.

1. Audience type

Choose who you want to reach:

Audience typeWho it finds
B2C Consumers / HomeownersIndividuals and households: homeowners, renters, buyers, sellers and more.
B2B BusinessesOwners and professionals at businesses researching what you sell.

Switching the audience type clears your interests and the consumer filters, because each audience has its own list of interests. Your location carries over.

2. How many leads

Pick one of two ways to add leads:

  • Keep adding new leads - a lead feed. Choose How often (Daily or Weekly) and Leads per run (Limit to 10, 25, 50, or 100 leads per run). The setup shows the most a run can cost.
  • Add leads once - a single purchase of people found now. Choose How many leads: Limit to 25, 50, or 100 leads. If fewer people match than the limit you pick, you get only the ones who match.

3. Interests & intent

  • What they're researching - search for an interest by typing at least three characters, then pick from the matches. Choose between one and five interests. For consumers, these are topics people have been looking into online, such as solar panels or a roof replacement. For businesses, they describe what people at the business are researching to buy, not the industry the business is in.
  • Intent strength - High (researching it heavily), Medium (researching it some), or Low (a light signal of interest). Pick any combination. Leave all three off to include any strength.

At least one interest is required before you can preview.

4. Location

Enter ZIP codes, Cities, and States (two-letter codes such as TX), separating several with commas. Leave all three empty to search nationwide. For businesses, location means the company's location.

5. Consumer filters

These appear only for Consumers / Homeowners. Each one defaults to Any.

  • Home & finances - Homeowner (Any, Yes, or No), and High net worth only, which limits the search to people with a net worth over $1M.
  • Demographics - Age ranges, Gender, Married (Any, Yes, or No), and Children at home (Any, Yes, or No).

Preview before you buy

Click Preview leads. Previewing is free and nothing is bought. The Preview results panel shows:

  • Estimated leads - how many people match your filters and showed intent in the last 14 days, and what all of them would cost.
  • What you get with each lead - the fields each lead arrives with (see What each lead includes).
  • A summary of your filters.
  • Sample leads - a few matching people, partly hidden (first name and last initial, with their area or company and intent strength). Full names and addresses arrive with the purchase.

If you change a filter after previewing, the panel shows Filters changed and you need to click Preview leads again before you can buy. If no one matches, try fewer filters or different interests.

Previews are limited per hour. If you run a lot of them in a short time, the panel asks you to try again a little later.

Buy the leads or start the feed

  1. Under Add them to this list (or Add them to a new list), check the summary of how many leads you're asking for and the most it can cost.
  2. Adding to a new list? Enter Name the new list. If you leave it blank, the list is named Targeted Leads - followed by today's date.
  3. Click Feed Me Leads to start a feed, or Buy N leads for a one-time purchase.
  4. Confirm. The dialog repeats how many leads are added and the most you can be charged. Click Start feed or Buy for $X, or Not yet to go back.

The leads arrive in the background, and the list fills in as they do. You don't need to keep the page open.

What happens next

  • A one-time purchase looks for people who showed intent in the last 14 days, adds up to your limit, and charges for the people it added.
  • A lead feed runs for the first time straight away, also looking back 14 days. Each later run, on your daily or weekly schedule, looks for people who showed intent since the previous run (never more than 14 days back) and adds up to your Leads per run.

You get a notification in the dashboard's notifications menu, linking to the list:

  • When leads are added: "Your lead feed added N new leads to ..." or "Targeted Leads added N new leads to ...".
  • When a one-time purchase found nobody who isn't already on the list. You aren't charged.
  • When something went wrong, such as a failed payment. You aren't charged.

A feed run that finds nobody new doesn't send a notification; it simply tries again at the next run.

What each lead includes

Consumers / HomeownersBusinesses
Full nameName and company
Home mailing addressBusiness mailing address
Email, when availableBusiness email, when available
Mobile phone, when availableBusiness phone, when available

Leads are added to the list as regular recipients, so you can edit, move, export, and mail them like anyone else on the list.

Pricing

  • 10 cents per lead added, taken from your credit balance like other data services. See Credits & Balance for how your balance is topped up.
  • Only new people are charged. A lead whose mailing address is already on the list is skipped and not charged, so a feed never bills you twice for the same person on the same list.
  • Nothing found, nothing charged. If a purchase or run adds nobody, there's no charge.
  • A failed payment adds nothing. If the charge doesn't go through, the leads from that run are not added and you aren't charged.
  • The most a feed can cost per run is its Leads per run times 10 cents (for example, $5.00 for 50 leads per run).

Lead charges appear in your billing history as N Targeted Leads - Mailing List #ID.

Managing your lead feeds

On the list

A list with a feed shows a Lead feed card with its status, what it adds ("Adds up to 50 leads daily"), what the last run added, the total added, and when it runs next.

The Lead Feeds page

Lead Feeds, under Audience in the sidebar, lists every feed on your account. At the top:

  • Active feeds - how many of your feeds are running.
  • Leads added - the total across all feeds.
  • Most a day can cost - what every active feed would cost if it ran today at its limit.

Each feed shows its list (click it to open the list), its audience type and number of interests, and Runs (daily or weekly, and the per-run limit), Most per run, Leads added, Last run, Next run, and List size. A banner points out any feed that paused itself and needs your attention.

Feed statuses

StatusWhat it means
ActiveRunning on its schedule.
PausedYou paused it. Nothing is added or charged until you resume it.
Paused - payment issueA payment failed, so the feed paused itself. Update your payment method under Settings → Payment Method, then resume it.
Paused - provider issueOur lead provider had a problem several runs in a row (three), so the feed paused itself without charging you. Resume it to try again.
StoppedEnded for good. It won't add anyone else, and the leads it added stay on the list.

When a single run can't be completed because of a provider problem, the feed tries again a few hours later on its own. It only pauses after the third failure in a row.

Pause, resume, and stop

Use the buttons on the list's Lead feed card or on the feed's card on the Lead Feeds page:

  • Pause - stops the feed from running until you resume it.
  • Resume - starts it again. A feed whose next run came due while it was paused runs right away. Resuming needs a payment method on file and a balance that isn't negative.
  • Stop - ends the feed. You'll be asked to confirm. A stopped feed can't be restarted. To take a break instead, pause it.

One feed per list

A list can have one lead feed. Starting a second feed on the same list is refused with "This list already has a lead feed." and a link to Open that list. That also applies after a feed is stopped: to keep adding leads, start a feed into a different list. You can still make one-time purchases into a list that has a feed.

Duplicate purchase protection

So a double click can't buy and charge for the same leads twice, an identical one-time purchase from your account is refused within 24 hours of the first one. A purchase counts as identical when the audience type, interests, filters, number of leads, list, and sub-account all match. The refusal reads "You already bought these leads in the last 24 hours. Change the search, or wait 24 hours, to buy them again." and offers Open that list so you can use the leads you already have.

If the first purchase found nobody or couldn't be charged, the block is lifted straight away and you can buy again.

This is separate from Duplicate Prevention, which stops the same address being mailed twice within 36 hours.

Campaigns and webhooks

Leads are added to the list like any other recipient, so the list's campaign actions and webhooks pick them up. A Days After Added action, for example, mails each lead the set number of days after it arrives. Pairing a daily lead feed with a Days After Added action mails every fresh lead automatically.

Availability

Lead feeds and one-time lead purchases are available from the dashboard only. They can't be bought through the API, the MCP server, Zapier, or other integrations, and they aren't offered in the Add Recipients dialog of Send Mail: buy them into a mailing list, then send to that list.
