Integrations Overview
What it is
thanks.io connects to the tools you already use through native integrations, automation platforms, e-commerce platforms, AI assistants, and a REST API with webhooks.
Every integration is listed on the Integrations & API page: click Integrations & API in the dashboard sidebar (under Send). Each card links to the app's listing or setup guide.
Connection recipes
Connect the apps you already use, at the top of the Integrations & API page, is a searchable catalog of recipes for pairing thanks.io with another app through your AI assistant. Type an app or an industry in the search box (for example "HubSpot", "Follow Up Boss" or "plumbing"), or click one of the Popular searches.
Each recipe card shows the app, a short description of what the pairing does, and how the assistant reaches that app:
- Has its own MCP server - the app runs its own MCP server, so the assistant connects to it and to thanks.io side by side.
- Built into your assistant - your assistant already has a connector for the app.
- Through Zapier MCP - the assistant reaches the app through Zapier's MCP server.
- No MCP yet - CSV route - export a CSV from the app and upload it to a thanks.io mailing list.
Under Open in on each card:
- Claude or ChatGPT opens a new chat with the recipe's pairing prompt already filled in.
- Gemini or Other opens the setup steps for that assistant.
Click the card itself for the full recipe: the Pairing prompt to paste into your assistant, and the steps to set it up yourself. On a plan without Business features, recipes that need them are marked Business Plan. To send someone straight to one recipe, link to https://dashboard.thanks.io/app/integrations?recipe=<recipe-name> (for example ?recipe=hubspot).
Recipes connect your assistant to thanks.io through MCP, so the same MCP Permissions decide what the assistant may spend.
Sending a creative from an integration
Integrations send the designs you build in Creatives. A creative is a front and a message saved together, and each one has an ID you can copy from its menu (Copy creative ID). Where an integration lets you pick a creative, it sends the piece exactly as saved:

Only creatives that are ready to send (they have a message, and a front unless they are letters) can be sent from an integration. See Finding template IDs for where each ID appears.

AI assistants
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, VS Code, or any assistant that supports MCP to your thanks.io account, then ask it in plain language to check your results, design creatives, build lists, preview and send mail, track orders, and manage webhooks. To pair it with another app you use, start from a connection recipe. Click Integrations & API in the sidebar, then Connect Your AI on the AI Assistants card. What an assistant may spend money on is up to you: the MCP Permissions switches under Settings → API & MCP Access are off until you turn them on. See AI Assistants (MCP).

Tips & best practices
- Start with a native integration or automation platform before building a custom API integration.
- Turn on Test Mode (Settings → API & MCP Access) to test sends placed through the API, Zapier, or an AI assistant without printing or shipping real mail.
- Build and preview the design in Creatives before you wire it into an integration, then pick or paste that creative.
- When connecting via Zapier or Make, test with a single recipient before enabling large automations.
