Can I use merge fields like "Dear [Name]" in a PDF I upload for a mailing?

Not quite. Merge fields (like “Dear Jane”) can only be used in our message templates, not in uploaded PDFs.

You can upload a PDF to send with your message (as an attachment) or make the uploaded PDF your entire message. Just keep in mind that personalized merge fields won’t work in those PDFs. So if personalization is key, we recommend building your message right in our editor using templates.
