Chaining Campaigns & Actions

What it is​

Chaining lets a recipient flow automatically from one step of a sequence to the next. There are two ways to do it:

  • Several actions on one campaign - a campaign can carry as many actions as you like, each mailing its own creative on its own trigger.
  • Move each recipient to another list after mailing - set on an action's When step, under After mailing. When the action mails a recipient, it moves them to the list you choose, where that list's own campaign actions pick them up.

Building a 3-touch drip​

Option A - Multiple actions on one campaign (same list):

  1. Open the campaign in Campaigns and click Add action.
  2. Add three Days after they join actions at 3, 10 and 21 days.
  3. Give each action a different creative on the What step.

The same list drives all three actions, and the campaign's page shows them side by side with their projected sends.

Option B - Chain across campaigns (different lists):

  1. Campaign A (list A): a Days after they join action at 3 days, with Move each recipient to another list after mailing set to list B.
  2. Campaign B (list B): a Days after they join action at 10 days, moving recipients to list C.
  3. Campaign C (list C): the final action.

Option B is more flexible but takes more setup. Use it when you need different triggers in the same sequence (e.g., Neighbor Blast → Days After Added follow-up), or want each stage's recipients in their own list.

To move recipients when they scan a QR code instead of when they're mailed, use the mailing list's Advanced settings → When someone scans a QR code… setting.
