AI Fonts & Realism Mode

What it is​

AI Fonts randomize the character placement and spacing in your handwritten-style message so every printed piece looks slightly different from the next. No two mailpieces are pixel-identical, which makes the text feel more like a personal note and less like a mass-produced template. In the dashboard, these are the AI styles in the handwriting style list.

Realism Mode goes further - it adds random crossouts, subtle slant variations, and small imperfections to the handwritten-style rendering, imitating the natural variation of a human hand.

Both are set in the message editor's Choose how the handwriting looks section, wherever you write a message: the message step of a creative, ThanksAI Studio, and the Message step of Send Mail.

How to turn them on​

  1. Open the message step of a creative (Creatives in the sidebar, then click a creative or New creative), or the Message step of Send Mail.
  2. In Choose how the handwriting looks, open Handwriting style and pick a style from the AI styles group.
  3. With an AI style chosen, Size and Realism appear. Set Realism to On to add crossouts and imperfections. Choose a Size or leave it on Auto.
  4. To write in white on a dark background, choose White under Color.
  5. Check the live render beside the editor, then continue and save.

Tips & best practices​

  • Combine AI Fonts and Realism Mode for the most authentic look.
  • Use white ink on a dark message background where dark ink would be unreadable.
  • AI Fonts introduces intentional variation - do not expect pixel-identical previews across recipients. That is the intended behavior.
  • Check the live render after choosing an AI style to confirm legibility, especially on shorter handwriting styles.
  • Realism adds crossouts - set it to Off if they look confusing on your message.

Limits & gotchas​

  • AI Fonts variation is per-piece - each order generates unique rendering.
