Overview:

Thanks.io is unique in the fact that we offer the ability for you to easily automate the sending of postcards. This means that once you have designed your card & build a mailing list, cards can be sent automatically following a custom sequence that you control!

Prerequisites:
Before you can build a campaign you must have set up the three things needed to send a postcard

  1. Image Template
  2. Message Template
  3. Mailing List

How to design:

Step 1:  Create a New Campaign
Click the "Campaign" button in the left navigation which will bring you here:

Step 2: Add a New Campaign
Click the add a new campaign button in the top right to get started.

Step 3: Set Up Your Campaign Options
You will need to select from the drop downs the mailing list, image template, and message template.

Please note: When you select an image template, you can then select postcard size. Letters do not have a size option, just select the letter image template you previously created.

Sending Options:
Postcard can be send either monthly, yearly, on a specific holiday, on someones birthday, on any specific date, or even based on the number of dates after they were added to mailing list.

Monthly:

Monthly will send a postcard to your mailing list EVERY MONTH on the selected day of the month. 

Please note: cards are sent 7 days in advance so they arrive on your selected day of the month.

Yearly:

Yearly will send a postcard to your mailing list EVERY YEAR on the selected day of the year.

Please note: cards are sent 7 days in advance so they arrive on your selected day of the month. 

Holiday:

Holiday will send a postcard to your mailing list EVERY YEAR on the selected holiday.

Please note: cards are sent 7 days in advance so they arrive on your selected day of the month.

Birthday:

Birthday will send a postcard to your mailing list EVERY YEAR on the date of your mailing list recipient's birthday field. This field is found in your mailing list, it can be edited as well as uploaded with your CSV.

Specific Date:

Specific Date will send a postcard to your mailing list ONCE on the selected date.  The specific date is the date of arrival, so the mail will be sent in advance of the date.

Days After Added:

Days after added will send a postcard to your recipient in your mailing list X number of days after their address is added to a list. This is great to pair with Zapier automation to automatically send cards after new recipients are added to your list. 

Important: If you intend to automate a series of cards, starting as soon as possible (like an email campaign) from a csv upload, you must follow these steps.

  1. Create a mailing list for your campaign with NO recipients (an empty list.)
  2. Create the campaign for that list with 'Days After Added.'
  3. Add recipients to the list after creating the campaign.

This will ensure that your campaign starts properly. If you upload a list of recipients, and then create a 'Days After Added' campaign for those recipients, the campaign will not fire.

Please note this is the only option that sends the postcard on the specific day it is triggered NOT 7 days before.
